Fifth Annual Legacies of Love Event

The Interfaith Foundation will be hosting its fourth annual “Legacies of Love” luncheon on Tuesday, February 14th from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The luncheon event is the Interfaith Foundation’s signature fundraising event that also provides a tribute to people in our community who have created a Legacy of Love through their community service and philanthropy. The luncheon is held at the Ocala HIlton.

This year’s Honorees are Frank and Naida Rasbury and Hank Harrell, Jr. MD .

The Interfaith Foundation was formed to provide financial resources and long-term stability to support the mission of Interfaith Emergency Services. Since 1983, Interfaith has been providing food, shelter, and hope to children and families in Marion County.

As you know, Interfaith meets the critical needs of individuals and families in Marion County. By providing services such as food, clothing, prescription medications and shelter, Interfaith gives hope to the hopeless.
    >> 450 clients a week include senior citizens, veterans, the disabled and our homeless population
    >> Our Food 4 Kids program allows us to partner with 34 elementary schools, feeding over 1,700 children a total of 10,200 meals each weekend.
    >> Our 35 bed Shelter program provides assistance to single women, moms with children and families.

Our 33 years of experience allows Interfaith to meet the needs of over 20,000 people every year. Interfaith operates with a 7% administrate rate, meaning 93% of donations go back into the community for assistance. We are donation based and supported by local individuals, businesses and churches just like you! Your donation will help raise funds to purchase additional food for our food pantry, which is always a critical need in the fall and winter months.

This is the perfect opportunity to relax and visit with friends, while giving to a great cause! Last year we raised over $19,500 thanks to friends like you!  Tickets are $25 per person. Corporate table sponsorships are $500 and include 10 tickets and advertising by Interfaith. For more information call Sonya at 352-629-8868 x33. Pardon our Dust at the Thrift Store

A new and exciting phase is beginning at the Interfaith Thrift Store.  It’s been a year since a vehicle, evading the police, drove through our fence, catching our Warehouse Storage Barn on fire. At the time, we lost thousands of dollars of donations and equipment. Thanks to local architects and designers, we now have a drawing and specs for our new Warehouse Building. Construction bids have been submitted and the Thrift Store Warehouse building will hopefully be rising soon.

The Center for Life - A Dream Come True

For years an un-met need in Marion County has been free medical and dental care for those without insurance or enough income to afford professional care.  This has driven thousands of uninsured, low-income patients to our local emergency rooms for non-emergency medical attention.  Last year alone there were over 4,000 visits to local Emergency Rooms for dental related issues.  Because these are non-paying patients, this has a detrimental impact on medical costs for the community at large.
