Florida Feast 2017

The annual Florida Feast fundraiser is kicking off on October 19th this year, sponsored by the Marion County Roadbuilders Association. The event will be held at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion. Gates will open at 5:30pm for appetizers by Mojo's and beverages, as well as the opening of the silent auction and raffles.  Dinner will be served from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. The menu will be your favorite BBQ items, plus authentic Florida fare including frog legs, venison, gator tail, fried turkey, smoked pork, chicken, and fish, with all the favorite side dishes (corn on the cob, seasoned green beans, BBQ beans) drinks and dessert. During the event there will be live music and a chance to mingle with friends. Don’t miss the wonderful silent auction and raffle items, where great deals will be had by all!  The event is casual dress - a great chance to wear your favorite jeans and cowboy boots.

PLEASE NOTE - this event has become so popular that purchases must be made in advance and will not be available at the gate. Tickets also sold out very early last year, so please reserve your your tickets now!  Also new, the event is primarily sponsored tables only, with either half or whole table sponsorships.  A full table is $500 for 10 tickets, with your own reserved, advertised table.  Half tables are available for $250, with 5 tickets (also advertised).  Interfaith will be sponsoring "Friends of Interfaith" tables for those that want to do individual tickets only, at a cost of $50 each.

As you know, Interfaith meets the critical needs of individuals and families in Marion County. By providing services such as food, clothing, prescription medications and shelter, Interfaith gives hope to the hopeless.

This is the perfect opportunity to relax and visit with friends, while giving to a great cause! Last year we raised nearly $20,000 thanks to friends like you!  For more information call Sonya at 352-629-8868 x203. To purchase your tickets, click the donation button below. Walk a Mile in My Shoes

Many do not understand the plight that our homeless face each day. There are many obstacles that are hard for us to understand, without being in their shoes.  In August, Interfaith is hosting a walk of awareness for the homeless, that will literally put participants in their shoes.

Because many homeless have no choice but to wear shoes that are not the right size, that are uncomfortable or worn beyond repair, simply walking through the heat each day is a challenge. On August 26th, participants in Walk a Mile in My Shoes will be asked to remove their own shoes and select from shoes donated to Interfaith, carrying their shoes in a bag.  Registration will be at 9am.  The walk will begin at 10am at the Ivy House and Brick City Church parking lot, located at 917 E Silver Springs Blvd., and will continue west for one mile to the Interfaith Center for Life at 108 N Pine Avenue, in Ocala.

Parking will be available at both locations and a shuttle will be provided.  Participants are asked to recruit sponsorships of $250 or more to support the homeless ministry of Interfaith, that serves women, children and families in need 365 days a year.  Our goal is to have at least 100 walkers provide sponsorships of $250 each.  To sponsor a walker or make a donation, please click HERE

The walker that raises the most money in excess of $250, will receive a brand new kayak! For more information about joining the walk, or volunteering, please contact Karla at 352-209-7045.  A participation form can be found here.
